It doesn't feel fake or forced, which is the nicest part of it. He's smiling by the time the film starts up, not quite paying attention to it yet, because he's trying to memorize the feeling here with her. Happy, while their daughter sleeps peacefully in the next room, and it's a strangeness he doesn't think he'd mind sticking around.
