She's not wrong. Maybe that's part of why he hadn't called Baze, because he knows the man would get him to stay. Either option seems to end with him staying, given he's already decided not to leave her alone just yet.

There is no reason for him to stay, except he knows he still cares about her, as much as he ignores it or tries to pretend otherwise. The adrenaline that hit him after the phone call is slowly abating, leaving him with that quiet worry, as well gratitude that she's... alive. That it wasn't worse. He wants to longer a little more, just to reassure himself she's all right.
